Restoring smile and function!
The patient had all of their teeth missing behind the upper right canine.
Only a premolar with a poor prognosis remained behind the upper left canine.
The patient faced difficulties chewing food and desired a restoration of their smile and function without resorting to dentures.
Treatment:
The upper left first premolar was extracted, and two implants were placed on either side of the mouth.
The treatment plan involved a cantilever design of an implant bridge, with two teeth retained by a single implant on each side in the premolar region
The dentist personally placed the implants and restored them with the single cantilever design on both sides of the mouth to achieve a full and pleasing smile.
The restoration of functionality allowed the patient to enjoy a wider variety of foods.
Additionally, simple white fillings were placed to address abrasion cavities from brushing and gum recession, further enhancing the appearance.
Outcome:
The patient experienced a successful restoration of both their smile and functionality.
The cantilever design of the implant bridge allowed for a full and pleasing smile.
The patient was highly pleased with the results.
This case exemplifies the transformative impact of comprehensive dental treatment, particularly when addressing the challenges posed by missing teeth and compromised oral health. The restoration of both aesthetics and function greatly improved the patient's quality of life, enabling them to enjoy a wider range of foods and gain satisfaction with their smile.
