No more dentures for me - Thank you!

£0.00

Patient Background:

  • The patient was described as remarkably understanding and appreciative.

The patient had previously undergone several implant procedures elsewhere.

Patient Concerns:

  • The patient had a failing left upper lateral tooth that was beyond salvage, necessitating extraction.

  • The aversion to dentures was a significant concern for the patient , but as all the adjacent teeth were restored with implants we were not left with much of a choice.

Treatment:

  • The treatment involved the extraction of the failing left upper lateral tooth.

  • A socket preservation method was employed, where the extraction socket was filled with bone particles to prevent bone loss in the area.

  • A temporary denture was provided to the patient during the healing phase, which lasted for 6 months.

  • Following the healing period, the lost tooth was replaced with a single implant crown that was carefully matched to the surrounding teeth.

Outcome:

  • The patient's toothless smile was successfully restored, and the implant crown perfectly matched the surrounding teeth.

  • Both the patient and the dental team were highly satisfied with the outcome.

This case highlights the challenges faced by patients with aversions to dentures and the successful replacement of a failing tooth with an implant-supported crown. The patient's patience and cooperation during the treatment process contributed to the successful restoration of their smile and dental function , with a very reassuring comment when we finished ‘ that we were the best practice he had ever been to!!’
