What Happens At Your Invisalign Consultation?

The Invisalign process starts with a free consultation here at Silveroak. We’ll examine your teeth, discuss your goals, and explain if Invisalign is right for you. If you decide to go ahead, we’ll take 3D digital scans of your mouth using our iTero scanner, no messy impressions needed.

From these scans, Invisalign creates a custom treatment plan, showing how your teeth will move week by week. You’ll even get to see a virtual preview of your new smile before treatment begins.

How Long Does Invisalign Take To Work?

Treatment time varies depending on how much movement your teeth need. For mild cases, you might only wear aligners for 6 months. For more complex changes, it can take 12 to 18 months. You’ll wear your aligners for 20–22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, or floss.

You’ll switch to a new set of aligners every 1–2 weeks, and we’ll see you at Silveroak Dentistry every 6–8 weeks to check your progress. These appointments are quick and comfortable, with no wires or adjustments like traditional braces.

What Happens After Invisalign Treatment Ends?

Once your final set of aligners has done its job, we’ll check your bite and alignment to make sure everything looks and feels right. Then comes the retainer stage—an important step to maintain your results.

You’ll receive a clear, removable retainer (often similar to your last aligner) that you’ll need to wear at night. Without it, your teeth may begin to shift back over time. The good news is that retainers are lightweight, comfortable, and easy to fit into your routine.
